Just because everyone else in their class is getting a brand-new car the day they turn 16 doesn't mean they will get the same privilege, and honestly, that's probably for the best. It's a bad idea to sink $40K into a car that a 16-year-old could easily drive into a ditch because they aren't mature enough to be careful behind the wheel. If you're going to buy a teenager a car, you're a fool if you don't buy a used one.
